Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using Eventio Africa's platform and services.

📅 Effective: 1 April 2025 📍 Jurisdiction: Federal Republic of Nigeria

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Eventio Africa platform, web application, APIs, and any associated services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Eventio Africa ("Eventio", "we", "us", or "our").

By creating an account, purchasing Event Credits, or otherwise accessing the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

2. The Platform

Eventio Africa is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) event management platform that enables organisers to create, manage, and run events across Africa. Features include but are not limited to:

  • Online RSVP and guest management
  • Digital access cards, badges, and wristbands
  • WhatsApp, SMS, and email communications
  • Event websites, photo walls, and live streaming coordination
  • Table arrangements, check-in tools, and event analytics
  • AI-powered event chatbots

Features are delivered on an Event Credit-based model as described in Section 4. Availability of specific features may vary by plan or region.

3. Accounts & Registration

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a legally binding contract to use the Service. By registering, you confirm you meet these requirements.

Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately at hello@eventio.africa if you suspect unauthorised access.

Accurate Information

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your profile updated. Accounts created with false information may be suspended without notice.

One Account per User

Each individual or legal entity may maintain only one active customer account unless express written permission is granted by Eventio.

4. Event Credits & Billing

Important: All Event Credits purchased on Eventio Africa are non-refundable and non-transferable. Event Credits are prepaid service tokens for use solely within the Eventio SaaS platform. They hold no cash value, are not a financial product, and cannot be redeemed for money under any circumstances.

What Are Event Credits?

Event Credits are prepaid service tokens used to access Eventio platform features. One (1) Event Credit equals one Nigerian Naira (₦1) in platform value. Credits are purchased in packages and stored in your credit balance. They are not a stored-value product or e-money - they are access tokens for specific platform actions.

How Credits Are Tied to Platform Actions

Event Credits are consumed by specific, measurable platform actions. Credits are deducted from your credit balance when you trigger a billable action, including but not limited to:

  • Invites sent - each invitation dispatched via WhatsApp, SMS, or email
  • Cards generated - each digital access card, badge, or wristband created per guest
  • RSVPs processed - each RSVP submission handled through your event page
  • Message blasts - per-guest per-send for broadcast communications
  • Feature activations - photo walls, AI chatbots, analytics, live streaming, and other billable services

The credit cost depends on the feature, pricing model, and the number of guests or messages involved. A full breakdown of feature costs is available in your dashboard under "Service & Credits".

Payment Processing

All payments for Event Credits are processed through Paystack, a licensed payment service provider. Eventio does not hold, store, or process your payment card data. Upon successful payment, Eventio records the corresponding number of credit units to your account. The payment itself is governed by Paystack's terms; Eventio is solely responsible for the credit units recorded on the platform.

No Refunds & No Transfers

All Event Credit purchases are final, non-refundable, and non-transferable. Once credits are added to your credit balance, they cannot be converted back to cash, transferred to another account, or moved between organisations. This applies regardless of whether the credits have been used or the account remains active.

If you believe a credit deduction occurred in error due to a confirmed platform fault, please contact hello@eventio.africa within 7 days. Where a verified platform error is responsible, affected credits may be restored at Eventio's sole discretion. Payment disputes or chargebacks raised with your bank do not entitle you to credit restoration and may result in account suspension.

Credit Expiry

Event Credits do not expire while your account remains active and in good standing. Eventio reserves the right to introduce expiry terms on future credit packages with at least 30 days' advance notice.

Pricing Changes

Eventio may update feature credit costs at any time. Changes will be communicated via the platform dashboard and take effect on the date stated in the notice. Credits already purchased are not affected by price changes to how credits are spent.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Send unsolicited bulk messages (spam) to guests without their consent
  • Impersonate another person, organisation, or Eventio staff
  • Collect or harvest personal data of guests beyond what is necessary for your event
  • Violate any applicable law, including Nigerian data protection regulations (NDPR/NDPA)
  • Engage in fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading event practices
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or disrupt the platform
  • Resell or sublicense access to the Service without written permission

Eventio reserves the right to investigate and take appropriate action, including suspension or termination of accounts, for violations of this section.

6. Intellectual Property

All rights in the Eventio platform, including its software, design, branding, and documentation, are owned by or licensed to Eventio Africa. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.

You retain ownership of all content you upload to the platform (event details, guest data, images). You grant Eventio a limited, non-exclusive licence to host and process that content solely to provide the Service to you.

7. Privacy & Data

By using the Service, you acknowledge that Eventio will collect and process personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for ensuring that any personal data of third parties (such as event guests) that you upload to the platform has been collected lawfully and that those individuals have been informed appropriately.

Eventio complies with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023 and applicable data protection regulations.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Eventio Africa shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or event revenue, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the total value of Event Credits purchased by you in the 3 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific requirements.

9. Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting hello@eventio.africa. Upon closure, any unused Event Credits are forfeited as credits are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Eventio may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if required by law. We will endeavour to give reasonable notice where practical.

Sections 4 (No Refunds), 6 (Intellectual Property), 7 (Privacy), 8 (Liability), and 10 (Disputes) survive termination.

10. Disputes & Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms shall first be referred to good-faith negotiation between the parties.

If a dispute is not resolved through negotiation within 30 days, either party may refer the matter to the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria, whose jurisdiction you irrevocably submit to.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via the platform dashboard or by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
